ANSER Public Charter School

All sixth grade students are required to engage in a full year of intensive service activities, known as the Sixth grade year Of Service. (SOS) They conduct a six-week community needs assessment and each student, with the support of community mentors and ANSER staff, develops an action plan. Their projects vary according to a student’s interests and perceptions of community needs.

Current SOS projects

Past projects have included:

  • Raising a seeing eye dog;
  • Mentoring a refugee child;
  • Collecting sporting equipment for migrant work camps.

If you’re interested in volunteering to help with these exciting programs at ANSER, or if you know of an agency that could benefit from involvement with ANSER, please call Michelle Dunstan at 426-9840.
